Outra was set up in 2017 by a team including former Tory party strategists Jim Messina and Lynton Crosby, and led by former dunnhumby exec Giles Mackay, the founder of property market analytics company Hometrack. Outra combines rich property and household data with predictive analytics, to help clients in real estate, retail and media to deliver smarter, audience-first strategies.
Jones spent nine years as a Director at Accenture Strategy, then five in senior roles at ride sharing phenomenon Uber, latterly as GM UK and Ireland. Since 2020 he has spent three years at European software company Tier Mobility. He joined home buying and selling tech company Upstix as COO in September 2023, and was promoted to CEO a year later.
In his new role he will oversee Outra's strategic direction and work closely with the senior leadership team to drive growth and innovation. The group says the dual role 'reflects its commitment to integrating insights and innovation across both brands.' Outra CRO Graham Field says of the hire: 'Fred's appointment is an exciting milestone for Outra. We've long been recognised for our pioneering household intelligence solutions, helping brands and agencies navigate complex consumer behaviour and fragmented media landscapes. With Fred's leadership, we're looking forward to expanding our offerings, deepening client partnerships, and continuing to set the standard in the industry.'
