Leger Creates AI Advisory Body
January 20 2026
Canadian-owned polling, marketing research and analytics firm Leger has appointed an Artificial Intelligence Scientific Committee, guiding the company's 'rigorous, thoughtful and responsible' adoption of AI technology.
Chaired by Jacques Nantel, Professor Emeritus at HEC Montréal, the external advisory body will ensure that AI initiatives remain relevant and aligned with industry best practices. Four other members of the body are from outside the company:
- Maxime Cohen, Professor and Scale AI Chair in Data Science for Retail, McGill University, Canada
- Ray Poynter, co-founder, Research Wise AI and founder of NewMR, UK
- Dharmendra Jain, President, Actnable AI, Kenya
- Sarah Mjidou, President and Founder, ALNIXIA, Canada.
These are joined on the Committee by company President and founder Jean-Marc Léger, and Sarah Mottet, who is Leger's VP, Transformation and AI.
The firm says it uses AI 'to strengthen human expertise by enabling faster, large-scale analysis without ever replacing human reasoning or judgment.'
'Surrounding ourselves with independent experts is essential to fully understand both local and global challenges and making informed decisions, says Mottet. Jean-Marc Léger adds: 'Our objective is clear: to integrate AI in a way that improves our offerings without compromising the rigor and excellence that define our reputation.'
