In Barcelona, multimedia communications group Mediapro has announced the launch of a market research division, which will include audiovisual consultancy GECA, social media management and OTT platforms, and will be led by Kike Lozano.

Lozano was previously Managing Director of GECA, which will now be led by TV industry veteran Víctor García-Morato, who joins the group.
The new division will form part of the Group's Brands&Xperiences area, led by David Xirau and promising to develop 'distinctive, high-impact value propositions for brands and institutions.' In addition to experts from GECA, the market research department will include specialists in data and audience analysis for broadcasters, production companies and distributors, alongside social media management and OTT streaming platform services.
Lozano held senior roles at Trece, Paramount and laSexta before joining the group as Managing Director of GECA in 2018. He is also the founder and director of the Master's in Audiovisual Distribution and Business and the Master's in Big Data and AI for the Audiovisual Industry, both at ECAM.
García-Morato joins from production company Isla Audiovisual, where he served as Director of Strategy and Business. Earlier he was part of the founding team at laSexta and held senior positions at FOX Networks Group, across both Portugal and Spain; and at Disney+.
