Sago Strengthens Verification during Panel Registration

April 30 2026

New Jersey-based research tech and services firm Sago has enhanced participant verification within its panel onboarding process, using a combination of government-issued ID verification and biometric selfie matching to confirm participant identity in real time.

Melanie CourtrightThe new approach uses tech from Persona, a secure identity verification platform designed to confirm real people online while protecting personal data, validating both that an ID is legitimate and that it matches the individual submitting it. Sago says this prevents duplicate accounts, impersonation, and the use of falsified credentials.

The verification process is embedded into the panel join flow, with participants prompted to upload a government-issued ID and complete a short selfie verification. Instant checks of ID authenticity, image quality, facial matching and selfie liveness are conducted behind the scenes, and those failing are flagged for additional review or rejected in real time.

Melanie Courtright, the firm's recently-appointed Chief Strategy Officer, comments: 'Trust and data integrity are non-negotiable at Sago. This enhanced verification process reflects our unwavering commitment to quality and ensures our clients' insights are built on a foundation of authentic, verified participants.'
