Co-founder Steps Down as Appinio CEO

German MR platform Appinio has announced the appointment of a new CEO, Arne Wolter, succeeding Max Honig. Wolter is a twenty-year veteran of the Bertelsmann Group, and joins from Statista, where he was Chief Revenue Officer.

Arne WolterHeadquartered in Hamburg, the firm was founded in 2014 by Honig, former Chairman Jonathan Kurfess and CTO Kai Granaß, and has maintained a headcount of around 250 for the last two years, while growing its customer base to more than 3,000 worldwide.

Wolter (pictured) brings more than 25 years of experience in scaling digital business models, most of it in management positions at companies within the Bertelsmann Group. Most recently he was Chief Digital Officer of media company Gruner + Jahr, overseeing a rise in its digital revenue share from 10 to over 40%. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Teads, a Nasdaq-listed company, and in his latest role at Statista was responsible for global sales, marketing, customer success, and revenue operations.

Jonathan Kurfess, who is the firm's majority shareholder, adds: 'Since 2014, we have been redefining market research - with even greater ambition in the age of AI.
