Insights, design and strategy group Material has appointed Ranjan Kalia as CFO, as the firm looks to scale its global capabilities and increase investment in AI.
Material has its roots in research agency LRW, which was established in 1992 and made a number of acquisitions in the 2010s to expand beyond its MR roots and offer a much broader range of strategic consulting services. Last month it brought in Raman Kalra as President, Asia Pacific, leading its operations in the region.
Kalia brings more than 30 years of experience leading finance organizations across global businesses. He joins following CFO roles at Brillio, Orion Innovation and Virtusa Corporation, having helped to scale the latter's business from roughly $100 million to $1.2 billion in revenue. Earlier in his career he worked in finance and operational leadership roles at EMC Corporation, General Electric Company, PepsiCo, Inc., and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
'Ranjan's leadership as CFO will play a pivotal role in our next phase of growth,' says CEO Laila Worrell, 'as we invest to deliver even greater innovation and value for our clients. He brings a global, results-oriented mindset and a strong track record scaling tech-enabled services businesses. He will be a tremendous partner in executing Material's strategy and creating exceptional outcomes for our clients.'
