New Walr Assist Soothes Cross-Tab Nightmares

Walr, the London-based data collection company serving 'the fast and the ambitious,' has launched Walr Assist, an AI summary layer built into its Dig Analysis tool. Assist promises to pull out the strongest stories in a researcher's data in under a minute, and 'point them to where to look first.'

Founded in 2020, Walr has developed proprietary technology to manage the entire research process including survey building, sampling, fieldwork, reporting and analysis, while keeping a 'human in the loop.' The firm offers 24/7/365 support, coverage across the US, EU and APAC and has completed more than 30,000 projects.

The firm says Dig Analysis was designed to help researchers escape from having to work through stacks of cross-tabs question by question, 'hunting for statistical significance and trying to piece together which differences actually matter.' Researchers set a target group - by age, segment, or behaviour - and the software automatically compares it to everyone else in the dataset: Chi-squared testing at 95%+ confidence filters out noise and results are ranked by statistical significance rather than question order.

Walr Assist sits on top of this, reading the output and rapidly generating a thematic narrative. Chief Product Officer Pete Flower (pictured) comments: 'There's a difference between AI that does the analysis for you and AI that helps you do better analysis. We're firmly in the second camp. Dig Analysis with Walr Assist gives researchers a faster start and a sharper focus. The story is still theirs to tell - we just make sure they know where to find it.'

The upgraded Dig is currently available to select beta clients.
