In San Francisco, Serif Health, which provides healthcare price transparency data and intelligence, has announced a 'significant minority investment' from SEVA Growth LP. Funds will be used to accelerate business development and the firm's pipeline of new product functionality and data APIs.
As part of the deal Shalin Mehta, founder and Managing Partner of growth equity firm SEVA, will join Serif's Board of Directors. Other terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Serif Health cleans, validates and enhances hundreds of billions of healthcare reimbursement data points each month to provide healthcare price transparency intelligence, used in rate search, analytics, and network intelligence for providers, payers, employers, and third-party administrators. Since 2021, federal regulators have required hospitals and payers to disclose negotiated rates for healthcare services to improve transparency around pricing.
Earlier this year the company launched Signal Ask, an AI application which allows users to query pricing data in plain language, without needing to know billing codes, data structures, or which dataset to search. Co-founder and CEO Rafiq Ahmed (pictured) states: 'SEVA's investment will allow us to expand the company's footprint and product offerings to help our customers maintain a clear view on healthcare pricing. We are excited to partner with the SEVA team on the next stage of our growth.'
