US-based agentic customer intelligence platform OuterSignal has announced $22 million in Series A funding, with which it will further develop its research engine, personalization and activation software, and recruit for engineering, go-to-market, operations and customer experience.
Headquartered in New York, OuterSignal launched just nine months ago and says it already works with 'thousands' of consumer businesses. The company uses publicly available context to build 'a full picture' of people making purchases and feeds it agentically into a company's processes, tipping off influencer and partnerships teams when a 'notable' customer buys, allowing lifecycle marketers to build audiences and target communications based on real personas, acquisition teams to target ads, and product and merchandising teams to profile the buyers appropriate to every SKU and category they manage.
Co-founder and CEO Zach Zelner states: 'We built OuterSignal to solve the very problem I had running consumer businesses over the last 15 years. Generative AI finally makes truly 1:1 experiences possible, but only if you understand each person on the other end. This round allows us to continue building best-in-class intelligence that drives person-level personalization across billions of touchpoints.'
The round was co-led by Long Journey Ventures and Abstract Ventures, with participation from BAM Ventures, Top Shelf Ventures, SuperAngel.Fund, and Jerry Yang's AME Cloud Ventures, plus a large number of angel investors.
