Music video network Vevo has announced a deal with media intelligence firm Samba TV, bringing the latter's audience segmentation capabilities to the former's premium advertising inventory in the UK.
Samba's platform combines TV, web and other media signals into a single view of the consumer journey. Its data comes from 1.5 billion opted-in users globally, providing an objective view of how real people stream video, watch linear TV, research topics online, and behave across screens. By integrating its TV data, Vevo will allow its advertisers to create tailored audience segments and run 'precision-targeted' cross-channel campaigns, augmented by strategies including linear TV retargeting, TV audience extension and incremental reach against specific platforms.
According to James Cornish (pictured), SVP, International Sales and Partnerships at the content firm: 'Vevo reaches approximately 30 million people in the UK, including 12 million through a TV screen. By bringing Samba's audience intelligence into our ecosystem gives advertisers a powerful way to activate against broadcast-scale, professionally produced music video content built for the TV screen.' Andreas Dooley, VP of EMEA at Samba adds: 'This is what modern television advertising should look like: premium content that layers on precise media intelligence to target audiences where they choose to watch.'
