Hitwise Appoints First VP of Research

Online competitive intelligence provider Hitwise has announced the appointment of Bill Tancer in the new role of Vice President of Research. Tancer was formerly Director of Market Research at LookSmart and a client of Hitwise.

The new role will be dedicated to analyzing and reporting on industry trends, and developing vertical applications for Hitwise products and services.

Tancer started out in competitive intelligence by providing custom research in the Internet and telecoms sectors for Gartner, and has since held senior MR and strategy positions at Pacific Bell Internet Services, NBC Internet and Zaplet. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Quantitative Management from the University of Florida, and a Juris Doctorate Degree from the Walter F. George School of Law, Mercer University.
