Sampling and panel management software provider specialist MARSC has appointed Peter Deacon as Support Consultant at its Surrey office.

MARSC’s sample and panel tools are used for broad consumer research or for smaller panels dedicated to specific topics, and the sampling tool can also be used to manage surveys using other data collection methods including telephone research. Last year, the company launched an online community solution combining a panellist interface with a fully featured content management system.

Deacon (pictured) has a background of supporting IT systems, installing networks from scratch, designing databases in VB/SQL, and linking databases to web sites using .net programming. He joins from S&B UK, where his role involved IT database design for stock control of parts for ticket vending machines, and prior to this, he held a similar position at building construction and maintenance company Tomkins & May Partnership. Earlier in his career, he worked for Sony as an Engineer and technical support exec.

Commenting on the appointment, MD Julian Simpson said: ‘We are delighted to announce that Peter Deacon has joined the MARSC team. In 2013 we have seen a significant uplift in sales and contract wins, he is starting with us at a very busy time for the company, and we very much welcome his design and support experience.’
