UK-based data collection and processing business Populus Data Solutions has appointed former Toluna exec Chris Atkins as Head of Business Development.

Launched by polling firm Populus in 2011, Populus Data Solutions provides online field and tab services using its own panel (Populuslive), alongside random online sampling techniques. The division also has its own in-house CATI operation.

Atkins (pictured) joins from online community and survey technology provider Toluna, where he spent the last eight years and latterly served as Group Account Director. Before this, he was a Senior Account Director at CCB, having begun his career at IBM.

Commenting on the appointment, Populus Data Solutions MD Patrick Diamond said: ‘I have known Chris for many years and his relationship management is first class. He was the obvious choice to head up business development as we continue to promote our services to a wider client base.’
