Healthcare analytics and performance benchmarking specialist Truven Health Analytics has appointed Richard Holada as Chief Data and Technology Officer.

The firm offers a range of solutions - such as research database MarketScan, healthcare payer decision tool Advantage Suite, clinical reference Micromedex, reporting suite CareDiscovery, and hospital operating trends tool ActionOI - combined with expert analysis.

Holada (pictured) joins from IBM, where he oversaw the predictive analytics and business intelligence offerings. Most recently, he was VP of IBM's Watson Legal Solutions, during which time he used the firm's Cognitive Computing technology to build solutions for the legal sector. Earlier, he served as VP, Predictive Analytics, having joined IBM after its acquisition of SPSS, where he had served as SVP of Technology and CTO.
