Ron CannCanadian public opinion polling and consumer research specialist Insights West has appointed Ron Cann as Senior Vice President, Products and Qualitative Solutions.

Based in Vancouver and Calgary, Insights West was set up by former Ipsos Reid President Steve Mossop (pictured) in 2012. As well as offering a full MR service, the firm provides access to YourInsights, a Western Canadian consumer panel; as well as an online community called the YourInsights Multicultural Panel, comprising British Columbians of Chinese and South Asian ethnic descent. It can also develop proprietary panels on behalf of clients.

Cann (pictured) joins with more than twenty years’ experience serving as an advisor to private companies, as well as public sector organizations. Most recently, he was VP, Marketing & Communications at brokerage Qtrade Financial Group in Vancouver, prior to which, he worked at Central 1 Credit Union as Director, Product Marketing & Sales. Earlier, he was Director, Customer Experience Strategy at creative agency the Karo Group, and he held senior marketing roles at North Shore Credit Union, the Columbus Group, Intraworks, and The Berrenger Group.

At Insights West, Cann is responsible for the growth and development of the firm’s suite of research products, as well as the expansion of its qualitative focus group research offering. In a statement, the firm said that Cann has already made a ‘significant impact’ on the business.
