Dr Kadriye ErcikanIn the US, non-profit Educational Testing Service (ETS) has appointed Dr Kadriye Ercikan as Vice President of Statistical Analysis, Data Analysis, and Psychometric Research (SADAPR) in its Research & Development division.

ETS provides customized solutions for teacher certification, English language learning, and elementary, secondary and postsecondary education, and conducts education research, analysis and policy studies. Ercikan (pictured) is currently Professor of Measurement, Evaluation and Research Methods in the Faculty of Education at the University of British Columbia (UBC), where she has been a faculty member since 1998. She was previously Senior Research Scientist and a Manager at CTB/McGraw Hill (CTB), where she provided psychometric leadership for research projects, statistical systems, and all aspects of assessments including assessment design, data analysis, and interpretation of assessment results.

In her new role, Ercikan will be responsible for data analysis and psychometric support of ETS's testing products and contracts, as well as for foundational and applied statistical psychometric research. She will also provide strategic, tactical and financial oversight of all functional areas within the SADAPR area of the division. CEO Walt MacDonald comments: ‘We are extremely pleased that Dr Ercikan is coming to ETS R&D. Her demonstrated thought leadership in several critical areas of educational measurement will be key in helping us meet our mission goals.’
