Marketing tech company Magnetic has appointed data strategy, analytics and machine learning veteran Paul Phillips as Chief Data Officer.
Magnetic's platform promises to help clients 'find, keep and bring back customers', using purchase intent data from more than 450,000 partner sites, shopping profiles of over 250m individuals, and behavioral insights from a billion active devices. Tools include advertising, email and site solutions.
Phillips, who joins the firm's leadership team in the San Mateo, CA office, joins from analytics firm Causata, which he founded, led and recently sold to NICE Systems Ltd. He is also the founder of personalization and machine learning company Touch Clarity, acquired by Omniture and now part of Adobe.
COO Sandeep Swadia comments: 'We are thrilled to have a leader of Paul's caliber join the team. As the worlds of programmatic advertising and CRM marketing converge, marketers demand high performance, transparency and robust customer insights. They want to coordinate across devices and channels, both online and off-line. Magnetic is one of the few tech platforms with the unique data assets to provide that end-to-end connected view. Paul will unleash the enormous value from our data assets for our clients'.
