Californian tech-focused research and advisory firm Aragon Research has appointed Adrian Bowles as VP of Research and Lead Analyst for Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Bowles (pictured) brings practical AI experience including development of an assessment tool for IBM Watson, and is the co-author of Cognitive Computing and Big Data Analytics, published by John Wiley & Sons in 2015. His previous commercial roles include work for Ovum/Datamonitor, Giga Information Group, New Science Associates and Yourdon, Inc., while his academic links include Drexel University and SUNY-Binghamton, NYU and Boston College. He holds a BA in Psychology and MS in Computer Science from SUNY-Binghamton, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Northwestern University.

In his new role, Bowles will focus on the business impact of modern AI/cognitive computing, advanced analytics, and the Internet of Things (IoT).
