Leela SrinivasanDIY online research firm SurveyMonkey has hired former Bain and LinkedIn exec Leela Srinivasan as its CMO. In addition to promoting the brand to a broader global audience, her remit includes the building of a cross-functional marketing team, with 'multiple marketing hires' scheduled.

Srinivasan (pictured) spent three and a half years at consultancy Bain & Company, latterly as a Case Team Leader, then in January 2010 joined LinkedIn where she spent more than four years, rising to Director of Marketing for the Internet giant's Talent Solutions business. She later worked as a marketing VP at OpenTable before joining collaborative hiring platform Lever, where she has served as CMO for the past two and a half years.

She says of the new role: 'Between LinkedIn and Lever, I've spent most of my last eight years as a marketer in HR technology, celebrating and elevating the work of talent acquisition leaders and their teams. At those companies, the head of recruiting held the 'meta job' - in other words, they were the chief beneficiary of the solutions the company offered, which put them in a position to shape product roadmap, beta test new offerings and generally work on the cutting edge of their profession. This will be my first meta job, leading a team of marketers in empowering, celebrating, and elevating other marketers. I couldn't be more excited to contribute at a company that delivers so much value to my profession'.
