Measure Protocol

December 20 2018

Professor Pandu RanganIn London, person-based data specialist Measure Protocol has added computer scientist and academic Professor Pandu Rangan to its Advisory Board.

Founded in September by a team of four former execs from YuMe and Crowd Science, Measure Protocol offers a blockchain-based marketplace for person-based data, where it says individuals are paid fairly and data usage is secure and transparent. Professor Rangan (pictured) joins the Advisory Board with 30 years of computer science and engineering experience. A published expert in the design of pragmatic algorithms, graph theory and cryptography, Professor Rangan will use this experience to help with the design and validation of Measure's open protocol for person-based data. Winner of the 2018 Institute Chair Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, Professor Rangan is a computer scientist and academic professor in the institute's Computer Science and Engineering Department.

Commenting on the appointment, CTO John Martin said: 'We're incredibly excited to be working with Professor Rangan on this project. There is a real opportunity for a positive sum outcome here - giving consumers control of their data and providing strong guarantees around privacy will increase the volume and accuracy of consumer data available to researchers, to the benefit, ultimately, of everyone.'
