Seth LowIn the US, B2B data intelligence platform ZoomInfo has promoted Seth Low to the role of Chief Information Officer, with a position on the executive team.

Waltham MA-based ZoomInfo offers access to a company intelligence database which contains both user behavior and business data to help sales and marketing teams deliver marketing campaigns and improve sales prospecting efforts. Yesterday, the company announced it had been acquired by sales and marketing intelligence platform DiscoverOrg.

Low (pictured), joined the firm in 2015 as Director of Technical Operations, managing ZoomInfo's TechOps, DevOps, CorpIT and security engineers. Before this, he held IT management roles at Rue La La, C Space, CrunchTime! Information Systems and Bullhorn. According to the firm, Low's appointment is the first in a series of moves focussing on the importance of data privacy and security. Later in the year, ZoomInfo intends to appoint a Chief Information Security Officer and a Chief Data Officer.

CEO Derek Schoettle comments: 'Our data is the foundation of our success and how we manage and protect that data is paramount to our organization and our customers. Collecting and protecting data, and promoting its appropriate use, is a core responsibility of ZoomInfo and will be the primary focus for Seth and the other planned executive hires. Seth will be integral to our data collection, protection and security efforts'.
