Michael MermelsteinThe Board of the Market Research Institute International (MRII) has elected Nichols Research EVP Michael Mermelstein as Board President for 2020; and Stephanie Harris as President-Elect.

Founded in 1996 by a consortium of industry leaders, MRII offers online market research courses which are authored and continually updated by industry subject matter experts. Through a partnership with the University of Georgia, MRII offers The Principles of Market Research, The Principles of Mobile Market Research and The Principles of Pharmaceutical Market Research. Nearly 9,000 practitioners from 104 countries have taken a certificate course.

Mermelstein (pictured), who completed a two-year term as MRII Treasurer in 2018, takes over from Ypulse co-founder Dan Coates, who served as Board President for 2019 and will now serve as Immediate Past President for one year. Commenting on the announcement, Mermelstein said: 'MRII has long been and continues to be the gold standard in teaching the core body of knowledge and principles needed to be successful in the market research profession. I am very proud to be part of this program and look forward to a year of continuing to provide world-class education to those in our profession'.

Harris, a research consultant and a member of the Board since 2015, has served on the Curriculum Committee since 2016 and is the current Committee Chair. In addition, the MRII Board has elected five new members: Jamin Brazil, former CEO of Decipher and FocusVision and host of the Happy Market Research podcast; Jennifer Colie, Consumer Insights Manager at Verizon; Anthony Jackel, Consumer Insights and Strategy Lead at Kraft Heinz; Roddy Knowles, Head of Research, Alpha; and Elizabeth Merrick May, Head of Customer Engagement, Hardware, Google (and a past graduate of Principles of Market Research). They replace retiring Board members David Almy, Marion Boeri, Jackie Lorch, Kathy Millich and Bart Weiner.
