Unruly

May 27 2020

Toby WilliamsVideo ad distribution and tracking platform Unruly has appointed Toby Williams as Vice President Business Development, APMEA (Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa), based in Singapore. He replaces Haifaa Daw, who left in September.

Founded in 2006 and owned by Tremor International Unruly uses emotion data to deliver targeted advertising to 1.2 billion people. The company tracks video views using a proprietary measurement platform and analytics dashboard, through which brands and agencies can measure the impact of their social media video strategies against competitors. In addition, the company uses historical sharing behaviour to predict the potential for video ads to go viral across all digital touch points.

Williams (pictured) joins with more than twelve years' media sales experience, after spending over a year at mobile ad and app monetisation specialist Smaato, as Senior Director of Demand for APAC. Prior to this he worked for Verizon as Head of the exchange business across the APAC region, and spent five years at News Corp Australia in a senior sales role.

In his new position, Williams will be responsible for driving Unruly's media footprint across the APAC region, by building partnerships with publishers and media companies. He will report to Phil Townend, Chief Revenue Officer, APMEA, who comments: 'Toby is a significant hire for our APAC supply-side business, and it coincides with our enhanced product portfolio. We very much value advanced knowledge of the in-app and programmatic ecosystem, and Toby brings unrivalled knowledge and experience across both the Asian and Australian media markets'.
