UK-based pharma researcher Purdie Pascoe has announced three appointments: Seb Newton as a Research Manager, and Arveen Jumani and Martha Vakalopoulou as Research Executives.

The company was founded in 2008 by former Synovate Healthcare execs Marianne Purdie and Guy Pascoe, and offers full service qual and quant marketing research to the pharmaceuticals, medical device and diagnostics industries.

Newton began his career in healthcare research in 2016 at Adelphi, and most recently worked in online qual at consumer branding agency Tangible. His experience includes respiratory diseases, diabetes, oncology and rheumatology, and he won the award for Best Patient-Centric Approach at the 2019 BHBIA awards.

Jumani has worked as a nurse and a team leader in the emergency and critical care areas of acute hospitals on two continents, giving her first-hand knowledge of medical devices. She brings a First-Class BSc. (Honours) in Nursing Studies and is currently undertaking her MSc. Dissertation at Edinburgh Napier University. Her focus is on identifying the effects of virtual COVID-19 training on the self-efficacy of healthcare professionals.

Vakalopoulou has gained healthcare experience during a year at agency Quomeda, and brings an MEng in Environmental Engineering from Democritus University of Thrace in Greece and an MSc in Biomedical Engineering, focusing on Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering, from Imperial College London.
