Australian agency DBM Consultants has hired former Nature Research exec & Innovation Leader Joel Vermaas as Executive Director, with a remit to expand its innovation offer, focusing on technology and digital sectors.
Founded in 1992 by Dhruba Gupta to provide data for financial services clients, DBM is part of the Illuminera Group and partners with
Nielsen and with the ad currency initiative
emma (Enhanced Media Metrics Australia). It also works for clients in utilities, telecoms and government.
The hire follows those of shopper and customer experience specialist Norrelle Goldring as Executive Director in June 2020, and former NAB executive Kipling Zubevich as CEO in February 2020.
Vermaas has spent 15 years in tracking and ad hoc B2C and B2B research, and his innovation expertise includes neuroscience and subconscious measurement, virtual reality, eye tracking and facial coding, and text analytics. Before Nature, where he was most recently Senior Associate Director, he worked for GfK and Millward Brown.
