Youth and family researcher Smarty Pants has hired former PRS IN VIVO exec Emily Contino as Quantitative Research Manager in Singapore. Later in the year, Contino will relocate to Phoenix, AZ in the US, to support the firm's domestic businesses.

The company, which has headquarters in Johnson City, TN, and offices in seven other US cities, works on brand positioning, new product development, consumer lifestyle and trend research. Contino (pictured) joins after twelve years at shopper insights specialist PRS IN VIVO in New Jersey, latterly as Senior Director covering the Asia Pacific region. During her time with the firm, she helped launch offices and run operations in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Singapore, having begun her career at International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF).

In her new role, Contino is tasked with guiding consumer shopper insights efforts for the company's retail clients. Commenting on the appointment, company President Wynne Tyree said: 'Powered by a decade of international research experience across categories and cultures, Emily masterfully designs and leads research to solve any business challenge that comes her way.
