Kirsty LaingIn Newcastle-upon-Tyne, full-service agency Explain Market Research has appointed Kirsty Laing as Associate Director.

The company, which was bought out by its management team in 2019, focuses on the utility, healthcare, finance, retail and social housing sectors, with clients across the UK. Its Trust and Confidence evaluation tool measures a range of factors that influence an individual's overall perception of a brand or organisation, and can be used by clients to benchmark themselves against the sector norm, and track this on an ongoing basis.

Laing (pictured) joins from MMC Research & Marketing, where she most recently served as Head of Research. Prior to this, she spent more than twelve years at Newcastle University (where she completed her PhD in Medical Sociology), latterly as a Research Associate, and she was a Research Assistant at the University of Manchester.

Commenting on the appointment, MD Kim Davis said: 'Kirsty is an incredibly knowledgeable and skilled researcher and has a vast amount of experience in account management and delivering complex projects.
