Josephine Hansom and Nick BakerThe UK's Market Research Society (MRS) has named Savanta's Josephine Hansom and Nick Baker as two of its twelve new MRS Fellows.

The MRS Fellowship honours research professionals who've made an 'outstanding contribution' to the sector. Hansom is currently MD of YouthSight (last year, acquired by Next15's data and insights group Savanta), where she has worked since 2013. She previously spent nearly seven years at GfK; first as a Qualitative Research Manager and then as an AD with global responsibility for digital innovation. Hansom first joined the MRS in 2001 and is a steering committee member of the MRSpride, which connects LGBTQ+ professionals and allies across the sector.

Baker currently serves as Global Chief Research Officer of Savanta, having joined the group in 2018. Before this, he was MD, Research and Consulting at communities specialist Verve, and Partner and Group CEO at Quadrangle Research Group, where he worked for a decade. During his career, Baker spent seven years as Chair of the MRS Delphi Group (think tank), which investigates issues that effect our understanding of behaviour, behaviour change, and privacy.

Hansom comments: 'I'm so grateful to work in a role where I can share my passion for research and contribute to the sector. To get a Fellowship at this stage in my career means a lot,' Baker adds: 'It is an honour in our industry. And to be nominated by Phyllis McFarlane, who is an absolute legend in our field, a trailblazer and who puts what I do in the shadows, is a real privilege. When someone like that puts you forward, it makes me think I must've done something right along the way.'
