Australian professional body The Research Society has announced that Amy Mawn, who has managed this year's Human Insights Conference (HIC) 2023, year-end events, and brought the Government and Social Conference back into place in 2024, is stepping down next year.
Mawn (pictured) joined earlier this year as Event Project Manager. Before this she served as Panel Manager at full-service research firm McNair yellowSquares, where she worked for more than fifteen years.
Karla Cerron takes over as Events Manager on 1st December. Cerron works with Sue York as a Training Support Assistant, and this role was offered to her as a recognition of her performance in managing the Research Awards for two consecutive years.
Mawn will continue her role at the Society until the Government and Social Conference at the end of March, overseeing the planning and management of that event, while Cerron gradually takes over the planning and management of HIC 2024.
In a statement, The Research Society said: 'Please join us in congratulating Karla for her promotion and thanking Amy for her successful work at The Research Society. We wish both the greatest luck in their new endeavours'.
