DIY Web Usability Tool Launched

September 10 2009

In Australia, a tool has been developed to enable companies to conduct remote online user testing of their web site, on any kind of digital interface.

The new Loop11 solution is said to replicate the experience of using a consultant for a formal usability test. Participants are sourced by distribution of a link to the test, recruitment of site visitors with a pop-up invitation, or through Loop11's own recruitment of an online panel.

They are then taken to the appropriate web site page, where a header at the top of the screen provides instructions on the tasks to be completed. Feedback is broken down into pie charts, through which it is possible to compare site results against competitors.

The new tool enables user testing to be conducted in around 40 languages, and all interactions are captured, processed and made available in real-time reports.

The firm describes Loop11 not as a survey or web analytics tool, but a 'user experience solution, designed to help clients understand user behaviour'.
