Forrester Tracks Tech Habits of Information Workers

October 8 2009

Forrester Research has launched a survey which is designed to uncover the technology adoption habits of information workers ('iWorkers').

Its new Workforce Technographics survey, polls more than 2,000 US iWorkers at companies with more than 100 employees. The methodology analyzes the needs and issues that these workers face in their jobs and is billed as an attempt to help CIOs and their staff, as well as IT industry vendors drive investments and prioritize initiatives.

The first set of findings are contained in a new report 'The State Of Workforce Technology Adoption: US Benchmark 2009', to enable Information & Knowledge Management professionals and other IT leaders to benchmark their organization's technology adoption and attitudes.

'By applying Workforce Technographics to their employees, organizations can benchmark their technology adoption and satisfaction against their peers and other industries,' said VP and Principal Analyst, Ted Schadler. 'This enables them to make better investment decisions based on hard facts, and develop metrics that clearly demonstrate IT's impact and inherent value to the business.'

The firm plans to expand the research into other countries and topics in 2009 and beyond.
