Mystery Shopping Launch in India

May 20 2010

India has a new specialist mystery shopping company, Startex India, formed by partners Market Xcel Data Matrix Pvt. Ltd. and Emirates-based Startex Marketing Services.

Market Xcel was established in the year 2000 as a data collection company and has added full service capability, growing to 75 staff with operations in six locations in India, plus a Singapore office. Its proprietary online consumer panel in India has more than 200,000 double opt-in panellists. Startex was established in the UAE in 1998 and was the first company in Asia Pacific and the Middle East to be accepted as regular member of the US-based Mystery Shopping Providers Association (MSPA).

The new firm will use Market Xcel Data Matrix's current infrastructure and marketing support to target the Indian market, and will work for both domestic and international clients.

Startex, UAE Chief Executive Aftab Anwar says the new company will help his firm to serve existing global clients and prospective clients in India, making use of the technology it already uses in the UAE, bringing real-time results via an online reporting system. 'The client can view individual reports of each shop as they are being done. This not only helps at being updated on a real time but also helps to take on location corrective measures immediately and effectively.'

Mr. R. Vishal Oberoi, Director Client Servicing, Market Xcel Data Matrix says his company's geographic and in-country expertise over ten years 'has helped us create a vast network and it will be used pretty well for recruiting mystery shoppers all over India.'

Web sites are at www.market-xcel.com , www.startexmarketing.com and (for the new firm) www.startexms.com .
