Mob4Hire Debuts Mobile Usability Ratings System

October 6 2010

Canadian-based mobile testing and market research community Mob4Hire has launched a rating system for 'mobile usability excellence' - focused on identifying and creating high quality mobile apps, web sites and other media.

'real people with real handsets'Founded in 2007, Mob4Hire conducts usability testing and market research through its respondents, 'real people with real handsets'. The company has more than 50,000 mobile testers in 152 countries, and 1,700 registered mobile developers.

Its new 'MOBSTAR CERTIFIED' ratings system is given to endorse a product or service that the firm regards as 'high quality' with exceptional growth potential, and levels of rating reflect the users' overall loyalty towards a business's app or web mobile experience.

The system, which has been developed in conjunction with BusinessOverBroadway loyalty scientist Dr Bob Hayes, has been designed to demonstrate to the public that a mobile app has gone through a rigorous usability testing process.

'It is time for a qualified, independent, 3rd party review system that is focused on mobile apps and their quality,' states Mob4Hire CEO Stephen King (www.mrweb.com/mrt/mob10jul.htm ). 'In our opinion, app store rating systems are becoming unreliable due to the fact that they aren't controlled and contain voting bias, and thus don't necessarily reflect the true quality of the software.'
