QRCA Names New Board

In the US, the Qualitative Research Consultants Association (QRCA) has elected a new Board of Directors for 2010-11, led by Nancy Hardwick who owns Washington State-based Hardwick Research.

Nancy HardwickNew York City-based QRCA is a not-for-profit global network of nearly 1,000 qualitative researchers, involved in the design and implementation of focus groups, in-depth interviews, in-context and observational research, and more.

The association's goal is to promote excellence in qualitative research by pooling experience and expertise, to create a shared knowledge base.

Hardwick, who has worked in the research industry since 1986, founded market research and public opinion polling specialist Hardwick Research in 1994.

Joining her on the nine-member Board are:

  • Vice President - Susan Thornhill, Thornhill Associates
  • Treasurer - Matthew Towers, Towers Research Services
  • Secretary - Susan Saurage-Altenloh, Saurage Research
  • Liz Van Patten, Van Patten Research
  • Benjamin Smithee, Spych Market Analytics
  • Manuela Fletcher, Andrew Fletcher Consulting
  • Foster Winter, Sigma: Research Management Group
  • Susan Abbott, Abbott Research & Consulting.

'The new QRCA Board is dedicated to continuing efforts to advance the discipline of qualitative research,' said Hardwick. 'We will work to provide members with new tools, knowledge and relationship building opportunities to enhance their qualitative research work.'
