North Steps Up to GfK Media CMO Role

In the UK, GfK has added the position of Chief Marketing Officer of GfK Media to Nick North's existing role as Joint Head of GfK NOP Media. He also becomes Secretary of the GfK Media Board.

Nick NorthNorth will take on the new role alongside his existing duties at GfK NOP Media, where he has worked since 2003. In this position, he is responsible for the development and launch of audience engagement panels in the UK and Ireland on behalf of national commercial and public service broadcasters.

In his new role, North will work with the team to deliver a wider array of audience measurement tools, on a local and multinational level. He will also be tasked with developing new growth in new markets and extending the Media division's services.

'Nick's appointment as CMO is in line with our vision for our global brand in the Media Sector, as we develop our international media research business,' states Wilhelm Wessels, GfK Management Board member responsible for Media. 'The CMO will strengthen the competitiveness of our local GfK companies and improve our success rate in winning major contracts in existing markets.'

Prior to joining the group, North's career included five years as the MD of Russian Research, which specialised in TV ratings research. While there, he developed a test system to evaluate viewer and listener appreciation.
