New Compete API Opens Access to Web Site Metrics

November 23 2010

In the US, Kantar-owned online behavior measurement specialist Compete has introduced a platform giving users unlimited access to detailed traffic, audience and engagement metrics covering the top one million web sites.

Stephen DiMarcoCompete - which was acquired by Kantar-owned TNS in 2008 - conducts continuous analysis of 'clickstream' data on the Internet behaviour of almost two million people, weighted to match the US online population.

The firm's new 'All-Access API' platform can be used to pull its data and metrics into clients' own analytic and reporting templates. Clients' search engine results pages can be overlaid with Compete site popularity and growth metrics, while site traffic and demographic data can be integrated into media buyers' internal planning models. In addition, it can act as a competitor benchmarking tool.

'The new Compete API enables marketers of any size and from any industry to tap into the industry's largest online panel and most comprehensive set of digital metrics,' states Chief Marketing Officer, Stephen DiMarco. 'It makes our data easy to integrate into innovative new applications that promise to increase the speed, precision and effectiveness of digital marketing programs.'
