Pharma Researchers Join for Oncology Tracker

Pharma and healthcare insight firms SDI and Cegedim Strategic Data (CSD) have announced the joint launch of a tracker for sales activity in the oncology therapies market.

The Oncology Selling Audit will provide monthly data from a 'robust' panel of medical and radiation oncologists and hematologists/oncologists. Released in January 2011, two years of historical information will be immediately available for reporting and analysis.

Data will include nationally projected measures of personal selling in the oncology market, including competitive corporate calls, details, messages, and promotional spending; and can be analysed by tumor type, staging, and modalities.

Andrew Kress, CEO of SDI says the service continues to extend his firm's Promotional Audit Suite, and 'complements its ability to provide real-time insights on the oncology disease and therapeutic marketplace through its other core data assets.' Existing services within the Suite including measurement of detailing, sampling, events, journal advertising, ePromotion, sales force sizes, and direct-to-consumer advertising.

SDI was founded in 1982 and provides detailed de-identified patient-level data, while CSD is also focused on market research in the sector. CSD's parent company Cegedim was founded in 1969 and is listed on the Paris Euronext exchange, employs 8,600 people in more than 80 countries and generated revenue of €874m in 2009.
