Kantar Strikes Global Video Streaming Deal

May 16 2011

Kantar has today announced a partnership with online facilities company ActiveGroup Ventures, giving the research giant worldwide access to facility based research via video streaming.

ActiveGroup has primary offices in Atlanta, London, Beijing, and Sofia, and offers access to 1200 focus group rooms worldwide. Following the deal, its technology for online streaming of research groups and its suite of interactive solutions - including chat-based interview tools and next-generation bulletin/community boards - will be used to upgrade existing Kantar facilities, extending the international reach of both companies. The partners are already working on installing equipment throughout Kantar's facility network and will begin a global rollout over the next few months.

In addition to video streaming access to traditional facility-based qual, Kantar will also be using ActiveGroup's live and asynchronous online platforms, which are available in 16 languages.

Matthew Graham-Hyde, CIO of Kantar, said: 'Online technologies to address our client's needs are emerging, with industry innovators like ActiveGroup leading the way... After extensive global testing, we are excited to be bringing their advanced solutions to our network of companies. We look forward to developing a partnership that delivers high-quality online research tools to our companies and clients.'

Ken Balog, President of ActiveGroup, says the partnership represents 'a significant opportunity' for both firms 'to extend the reach and impact of [their] methodologies and technologies.'
