GfK Launches In-home Scanner Panel in Turkey

GfK has launched a new panel of Turkish consumers, billed as the first to use in-home scanning technology to provide insights based on actual purchase data.

The device used by panellists to scan their groceries at homeGfK Türkiye provides retail audits of unit sales and price trends for each category, product, product feature and model, using a range of qual and quant techniques.

The new panel constitutes a multi-million Euro investment - the firm has installed 12,000 scanning devices in households representing the Turkish population. Panellists will use the devices to capture barcode data about each product they have purchased.

The new service will be part of GfK's Europanel, a global network serving international manufacturers and retailers in more than 50 countries.
