November 18 2011

In the Netherlands, the JIC STIR joint industry body has awarded comScore and Intomart GfK a three-year contract to provide the country's Internet audience measurement currency. The first results are expected in 2012 and the deal runs to 2014.

Frans KokJIC STIR was set up by a group of Internet providers in 2004, to promote online advertising in the Netherlands. The new contract will measure visibility and engagement with ads through an expanded panel of more than 25,000 Internet users, with more frequent reporting. It will also measure time spent online and on any particular web site, and give metrics for streaming.

Data will be delivered weekly with campaign reports also available on a daily basis. Frans Kok, Director of JIC STIR, comments: 'This concludes an intensive tender period of more than two years, and we will now build a revolutionary new research system. I am extremely proud of the Technical Committee and the Board of JIC STIR.'
