Boyland Joins River to Strengthen Qual Service

In the UK, international specialist River Research has appointed former ICM Qualitative Head Marcus Boyland as a Director.

London-based River Research, founded by former Illuminas trio Julian Kenway, Joe Brown and Nick Cornish, specialises in international brand, FMCG, child and youth, and retail research.

The firm recently reported a £1m increase in sales to c.£2.5m for the last 12 months, and announced that it is considering expanding overseas, with the US being the most likely location.

Boyland's new role includes taking an active lead in new business development as well as working with River's existing clients. He joins with a fifteen-year background in international qual research, including nearly a decade at NOP World/GfK NOP followed by five years at ICM Research as Research Director. Most recently, he worked briefly as an Insight Director at Kadence International.

Brown comments: 'I've personally known Marcus for more than 15 years and know the value and experience he can bring to River. It's an exciting time - international qual research is a major part of our business, so this is an excellent fit for us both.'
