TAM Ireland Hires Leader for TV Audience Arm

TV ratings body TAM Ireland has appointed media sector veteran Jill McGrath as Head of its TV Audience Measurement service, replacing Aidan Dunne who is retiring.

Jill McGrathViewing in the Republic of Ireland has been measured by Nielsen since 1996, with the latest five year contract awarded in 2008 and commencing on September 1st 2010.

TAM Ireland announced in 2010 that it would be expanding the size of its television audience measurement panel, and adding the ability to track time shifted viewing (TSV).

McGrath joins with more than twenty years' experience in sales, marketing, business development, strategy, operations, PR and media management. For the past eleven years, she has served as MD of Irish online dating site MaybeFriends.com. Prior to this, she was Marketing Director at Dublin's FM104, and held sales, media buying and planning roles at Independent Newspapers, Bell Advertising, and O'Connor O'Sullivan Advertising.

Dunne began his career at Cadbury's before moving into the advertising sector as Media Director of McConnell's Advertising and then Chairman of its separate media planning and buying agency. He then moved on to radio station Newstalk where he was CEO until 2003, and left to run his own media consultancy Objective Communications: Analysis and Planning, before becoming Chairman of TAM Ireland.
