Cegedim Revenue Down in 2011

February 6 2012

Healthcare CRM and data services company Cegedim reported a 4.2% like-for-like fall in revenue in the fourth quarter of 2011, to EUR 256m; and a fall of 2.8% for the full year, to EUR 911.3m.

The CRM and strategic data division, which accounts for just under 60% of group revenue, saw full-year revenue down 2.4% to EUR 510.4m and Q4 revenue down 3.6% to EUR 149.2m, with a 'disappointing December for non-recurring business in the market research division.' CRM solution user numbers however have remained stable.

Full year revenue for the group's Healthcare Professionals sector was down 6.5% and for the Insurance and Services sector, up 2.9%.

The Group said sales in emerging countries continue to grow and now represent 19% of the total, with innovative products including the iPad version of its Mobile Intelligence product leading the way - a new version of the latter is due in the second half of 2012. Around 34% of 2011 revenue came from the French market, and another 34% from the rest of the EMEA region, with 22% from the Americas and 10% from APAC.

Cegedim says that 'incredibly innovative' new products and the strengthening of recently agreed cost-saving measures will boost results over the coming months, with 'a positive impact on revenue in the second half of 2012.' In addition to the iPad upgrade, the firm is launching fully web-based medical software at Monlogicielmedical.com, a medication database in the UK and new solutions for the health insurance field. It is also rapidly developing its compliance business.

Listed in Paris, Cegedim employs 8,200 people in more than 80 countries, was founded in 1969 and is online at www.cegedim.com .
