Pulse CEO Takes Chair at GO Communications

March 27 2012

Bob Chua, the CEO and founder of research outsourcing and panels company Pulse Group, has been appointed Chairman of Malaysia-based comms group GO Communications, with a remit to spearhead the company's Asia Pacific expansion.

Bob ChuaGO offers a range of services including media relations, branding, events management, crisis communications, and editorial and production services. In addition, with sports marketing a growing specialism, the firm has appointed golfer Stewart Ginn and professional footballer Abbas Saad as Sports Brand Directors.

Chua will implement a strategy for a regional network, as the company plans to set up a joint venture and wholly owned GO Communications offices in Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam. His firm Pulse Group has offices in Kuala Lumpur, New York, London, Sydney, New Delhi and Singapore. For the six months to the end of November 2011, the company reduced its losses to $386k, compared with a loss of nearly $620k for the same period in 2010.

On his appointment, Chua comments: 'I was impressed and excited by the vision and ambitions of the two founders of GO Communications - Michael and Peter de Kretser. The company has an outstanding track record in Malaysia that includes a list of high profile clients, award-winning creativity and a great passion for the business.'

The founders say Chua's appointment is 'pivotal' to their company's growth plans and Asia Pacific expansion, and said in a statement: 'The synergies of the two companies are complementary, and will provide clients a range of increased resources, for example, with the powerful digital and social media'.
