Nielsen Claritas CEO Steps Down to Join Charity

After nearly twenty years at Nielsen Claritas, Drake Bassett has left the research industry to take up the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of the not-for-profit organization Palmer Home for Children.

Bassett joined segmentation specialist Claritas in 1992, and has since held a number of roles including COO, SVP of Human Resources, SVP of Inside Sales, and General Manager. As President and CEO, he was a member of the Nielsen Global Product Leadership team.

Prior to joining, he held senior roles with Prism Solutions and Stategic Mapping Inc, and he began his career with IBM.

Interim Palmer Home President Charles Guest describes Bassett as having 'undiluted enthusiasm and unfiltered passion for knowing Palmer Home, its children, and how to help more of them'.

Bassett says of his new role: 'Creating and sustaining opportunities for as many children as possible will be the driving force behind my role as President of Palmer Home'.
