Kantar Health Patient Survey Opens in Russia

April 27 2012

Kantar Health has launched its self-reported patient database, National Health and Wellness Survey (NHWS), in Russia, where it will collect information representative of the adult urban population.

NHWS expands its coverageThe survey is already conducted annually in the US, Europe, Asia and Latin America. Survey responses will now be collected directly from Russian patients and will cover topics such as health status, attitudes, behaviours and outcomes.

The NHWS provides prevalence information for more than 165 conditions and includes both diagnosed and undiagnosed yet symptomatic patients; those currently untreated, treated with prescription medications and treated with OTC. The results help healthcare clients size market opportunities, measure direct and indirect costs, gain insight into disease-specific segments and develop publication strategies for specific consumer or patient segments.

Regional Brand Director Gina Isherwood says Russia is 'quite different from established countries in Western Europe and other emerging markets', and has a rapidly changing healthcare environment where 'the unmet needs of patients remain high', making it an attractive growth opportunity for pharma firms.

The division has offices in over 40 countries and is online at www.kantarhealth.com .
