Gartner Q1 Revenues Rise 12% to $369.2m

Technology researcher Gartner has reported a 12% increase in first quarter revenue to $369.2m, from $329.5m a year earlier, while net income rose 17% to $71.2m.

Gene HallFounded in 1979, Gartner is headquartered in Stamford, CT, USA, and has 5,056 associates, including nearly 1,300 research analysts and consultants.

In its Research business, first quarter revenue was up 13% compared with Q1 2011 to $274.6m, while contract value increased 14% to $1,111m.

In the Consulting sector, sales rose 6% to $74.6m, while in the Events division, revenues shot up 29% to $20.0m.

Gene Hall, Gartner's CEO, commented: 'We continue to consistently deliver double-digit growth in revenue, contract value, Normalized EBITDA and EPS, which puts us in an excellent position to deliver on our full-year growth targets.'

For full year 2012, the firm is anticipating research revenues of between $1,130m and $1,150m, and total revenues of $1,600m to $1,650m.
