Raymond to Lead New GfK Innovation Practice

November 13 2012

GfK has announced the formation of a new global Market Opportunities and Innovations practice, which will promise marketing professionals 'the critical foresight needed to successfully tap into future markets'. Marilyn Raymond will lead the new division.

Marilyn RaymondAs well as economic indicators, the practice will look at the 'equally important' cultural perspective in each potential investment region. Debbie Pruent, Member of the GfK Management Board, says the move is part of the group's 'Big Future' strategy and recognizes clients' needs for 'a fully integrated offering for their Innovation journey'.

Raymond, who takes the title of Global head of Market Opportunities and Innovation, was until now Senior Partner at The Arbor Strategy Group and EVP, GfK Strategic Innovation - and formerly a Market Research Manager at RJR Nabisco. She describes innovation as 'hard work', requiring a fact-based strategy. 'Without foreseeing where the market is going, you run the risk of fruitless expenditure of investment funds. That's why you need a view of tomorrow... The opportunity lies in pinpointing how outside influences are impacting on your consumers and identifying when these influences become new needs.'
