Straub and Stroud Strengthen MMA

November 14 2012

Ipsos forecasting and brand optimisation subsidiary Marketing Management Analytics (MMA) has appointed former Nielsen execs Paul Straub and Tom Stroud, to manage the firm's Midwest client base and support its innovation agenda, from a base in the Chicago office.

Straub, who becomes SVP of Analytics, brings more than twenty years' experience teaching economics and statistics and applying advanced analytic techniques to retail and other business challenges, in particular the development of semi-automated analytic, marketing, pricing and forecasting solutions at the enterprise level. At Nielsen, Straub was Vice President of Research and Development, having previously led Marketing Analytics, Inc. as President. He has taught economics and statistics at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, and holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Illinois.

Stroud has more than eleven years' experience in consulting for food, beverage, retail, healthcare and financial services clients, combining analytic expertise and consumer insights to identify market opportunities. Before working as VP of Advanced Analytics at Nielsen, he led growth and portfolio consulting engagements at The Cambridge Group; and worked at A.T. Kearney, specialising in operations improvement and large-scale program management. He earned an MBA, also at the Kellogg School, with concentrations in Strategy, Marketing, Finance, and Analytic Consulting. At MMA he takes the title of VP Strategic Accounts.

MMA CEO Patrick Cummings comments: 'Paul and Tom have direct experience in applying advanced, predictive analytics, but more importantly they understand and have experience solving the challenges our clients are facing every day. We are thrilled to have this extremely talented analytic consulting duo joining our team.'

MMA says its 2012 revenue will be twice that of 2010, and that accordingly it has more than doubled its workforce. It expects to continue to 'aggressively hire top talent' in 2013.
