Gene HallIn the Consulting business, revenues fell 3% to $72.6m, while the Events segment saw revenues rise 19% to $23.8m. Overall, the group's net income was up 7% to $36.7m, and normalized EBITDA increased 5% to $75.1m.

CEO Gene Hall (pictured) comments: 'We continue to see robust demand for our services across all three segments. Research contract value grew 14% on an FX neutral basis with all geographies, industries, and client sizes growing at double digit rates. Our Events business grew 20% with equally strong growth in both attendee and exhibitor revenue in Q1. While Consulting had a slightly slower start than we expected, our backlog and pipeline for Q2 are strong. We remain highly confident we will achieve the guidance we set for the current year.'

For the full year 2013, Gartner is projecting total revenue up by 10% to 13% to between $1.77bn and $1.82bn, while Research revenues are expected to increase 13% to 14% to between $1.28bn and $1.30bn.
